Writing Stories Year 2 at Colegio San Gregorio

As a final task of our school year at Year 2 at Colegio San Gregorio in Aguilar de Campoo we wrote stories and record them.

The students worked in groups of two people. They follow this process:

• First, they desing the settlement and the character, and they described both of them: 

• Then they wrote the stories and decorate them, they should have at least four paragraphs one per each page and the picture to decorate it. Here you can read and listen all of them:

Creating a map about our town: Aguilar de Campoo

Along the second term of this school year the students of Year 2 of Colegio San Gregorio in Aguilar de Campoo had to learn about the different places of the city (town hall, supermarket, library, main square). 

For that purpose we did to different task:

• First of all we created a big poster at the classroom in which each student had to go and take a real photo of the different parts of the town.

• Secondly, we prepare in pairs the script for a video in which the students explain the different places of the town with at least to sentences explaining it. Then we went out to record all the videos. Here are all the final products:

• Finally we created a Google Map, like if it was a touristic guide of our town: Aguilar de Campoo.  Here it is for you,  we hope you like it. 

We hope you enjoyed it, we did it!!

Prehistoric Art

 @teacher_marga is a Primary Bilingual teacher who has just successfully completed her Master's Degree Module on The Use of ICT and Web Resources for Primary Bilingual Education at University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid.

The result of the digital learning missions and challenges she has overcome along this three-month adventure is an e-publication aimed at CLIL Primary learners to interpret Prehistoric Art, entitled Bringing arts closer to children.

After evaluating other ebooks, reflecting on visual design principles, learning about licencing, citing and attributing; crafting audio and video challenges, designing flyers, attending live international events for inspiration and contributing to several international collaborative projects, @teacher_marga is showcasing all her findings in a blog where she offers tips and ideas for other CLIL Primary teachers to apply in lessons.

La Zafra Virtual Zoo

That is the name of our latest Project. Students of ESO1 at IES “La Zafra” have been looking for information, writing drafts, choosing pictures… for the last few weeks, in order to make a report about their favourite animal. We have done most of the work on the classroom wiki but the workspaces there (proyectos)  are password protected and you cannot see them ☹ So, we have copied our texts on THIS PADLET so you can have a look and learn about dolphins, dogs, parrots, caimans or even about the strange “Pangolin” :-)
Most of the works shown here have not been fully revised after the teacher’s correction and suggestions, so you can find some mistakes. As we willl keep improving them, please, feel free to send coments with your suggestions about spelling, gramar or vocabulary mistakes that you might find and we will try to correct them as son as we can.

My Dream Classroom

Have you ever wished to have a jacuzzi in your classroom? Or, maybe a tennis court, a piano, some clothes shops and, of course, plenty of computers and mobile phones everywhere?
Students of ESO1B at IES La Zafra in Motril have had the opportunity of designing their ideal classroom. Most of them are in Hawaii, but we also have classrooms in New York, London and even...Jupiter!!! Five to ten students per classroom as average and most of the times, with no teachers. (...)
They have even been allowed to chose the subjects taught in those Dream Classrooms and, of course, the winner is: Wassap. One hour everyday, followed by lessons of tuenti, shopping, football, and, of course, PSP, XBox... No need to have a recess as you can sit comfortably in the huge sofas placed everywhere or have a swim in the huge swimming pools that you can find in almost all of our classrooms. And, believe it or not,  in mid november, in Motril, most of the classroom didn't forget to install... Air Conditioned!!
