Famous people in History

Today we share a work from CPR Barranco de Poqueira in Capileira (Granada). Students at 5th and 6th grade primary while were studying simple past, they wrote a simple biography about some famous people.

First they chose the characters

Then they found out an important dates of interest

They filled this sheet with the results

Finally, we uses line.do (one web 2.0 tool to create Timelines) to present the works.

Animals: Descriptions and questions

From CPR Barranco de Poqueira in Capileira (Granada), we share a great work that pupils in 5th level made while they were studying the wild animals.

-First, they chose animals to find information

-Then, they completed a simple sheet with the results

-Later, they wrote sentences using simple present and some action verbs: run, jump, fly, eat, swim...

My daily routines

The students at 4th level in Capileira (Granada) tell us what they do all days (Their daily routines)

The activities followed this order:

1º Find and write the verbs you need to explain (present simple).

2º Write the hours
3º Fill this sheet 

4º Write full sentences. Put in order (from morning to night).

5º Record the audio

6º Add a photo
7º Write questions to make an interview
8º Record the interview

About Platero and I - El Greco

A team of three of my students at URJC are working on the #quenipintado e-Project at the Master's Degree they are doing until the end of April, in order to commemorate these two special dates to be celebrated in Spain in 2014.
In order to show all their e-proposals they have designed a nice Wix: Enjoy Learning: Art and Music.

As part of their e-project activities, they are connecting with Primary CLIL students nationwide through online questions, quizzes and so forth.

The first set of questions consists of an animated avatar that asks two very simple questions that any Primary CLIL can answer, with the aim of gathering information about kids' prior knowledge regarding El Greco and Platero. Just click on the image below and meet the avatar:

The first bunch of students to come forward and answer the first set come from Capileira, Granada. They have compiled a whole Pinterest board with their animated answers, also in the format of avatars.

Working food in class

The students at CPR Barranco de Poqueira (Capileira) in 3rd Primary had been working the topic "Food".  They have done some interesting activities.

1º We chose 4 groups for studing vocabulary: Fruit, Drinks, Vegetables and Fast food.

2º We were talking about likes and dislikes. They wrote sentences and searched some photos.

What are you wearing today?

The students at 3rd Primary in Capileira (Granada) had been working the topic "Clothes" during last January.

In one activity, we talked about our clothes. 

1) They were drawing a conceptual map about the clothes they wear when it's hot and cold.

2) We took photos and described them answering the question: What are you wearing today?

Describing animals

The students in 5th at Capileira (Granada) have been doing descriptions about animals. Here, they practiced the simple present, affirmative and negative. Also they were using some verbs like run, live, eat, swim, climb, fly, has got...

This activity followed the steps:

2) Complete this sheet

3) Write on a collaboration presentation

Working sports in English class

From Capileira (Granada),  this year our pupils in 3rd level Primary have been working a lesson about sports. We had done some interesting activities that we want to share everybody.

First, we were collecting vocabulary in the notebook, the most important and popular sports than they knew.
Later, everyone made pictures using "can" and "can't".

Then, they made a survey asking to their family, peers, friends,.. Here you can see all the results (with text and graphics) in this document.

We recorded audio also.




Finally, we worked in groups for showing a sport and do a presentation. In this moment, this work isn't ready to share. It'll be published soon.

A trip to USA: A collaborative story

This is the story that had written the students in 5th and 6th Primary from CPR Barranco de Poqueira.

We decided make it in collaboration. First, from Bubion school, pupils began the story. Two weeks later, it was completed and finished in Capileira school.

They all worked in groups, writing and drawing the pictures.
